You have 5+ years of backend engineering experience, particularly in building production systems that scale effectively. You have a strong understanding of cloud-native architectures and are comfortable working with large-scale distributed systems. Your expertise in technologies like Kafka and Apache Flink allows you to contribute meaningfully to the team.

You think strategically and are not confined to the status quo — you enjoy tackling complex challenges and driving end-to-end technical delivery. Your focus on operational aspects such as availability, reliability, and performance ensures that the systems you work on are robust and secure.

Desirable

What you'll do

In this role, you will work on building foundational cloud frameworks and services that power all components of the Confluent platform. You will be involved in creating a new multi-tenant, multi-cloud, polyglot, cloud-native compute substrate that enables new business opportunities across Confluent Cloud.

You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that the platform meets the needs of customers while maintaining high standards of performance and reliability. Your responsibilities will include monitoring system performance, responding to incidents, and planning for capacity to ensure that the platform remains resilient.

You will also contribute to the technical direction of the team, helping to shape the architecture and design of new features. Your insights will be invaluable in driving improvements and ensuring that the platform continues to evolve in line with industry best practices.
