Overview
InterSystems is seeking a Senior Kubernetes Engineer to join their global infrastructure team. You'll be responsible for scaling, automating, and securing Kubernetes environments across various platforms. This role requires expertise in Kubernetes, Terraform, and CI/CD practices.
Job Description
Who you are
You have extensive experience in managing Kubernetes environments, with a strong focus on automation and security. Your background includes deploying and upgrading Kubernetes clusters using tools like kubeadm, EKS, AKS, GKE, or Rancher. You understand the importance of implementing robust RBAC, network policies, and ingress controllers to ensure secure and efficient cluster management.
You are skilled in designing and operating multi-cluster and multi-tenant Kubernetes environments, utilizing tools such as Rancher, Fleet, or Spectro Cloud Palette for centralized governance. Your expertise extends to implementing tenant isolation, resource quotas, and compliance controls across staging and production clusters, ensuring that all environments are secure and compliant.
Your experience with automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) is significant. You have automated cluster provisioning and application deployment pipelines using Terraform, Helm, and ArgoCD. You are adept at building reusable modules for consistent infrastructure delivery across different environments, which enhances efficiency and reduces errors.
You have a solid understanding of CI/CD integration, and you know how to optimize Kubernetes for modern CI/CD workflows. Your skills in supporting GitOps practices and continuous deployment automation allow for rapid and safe application delivery. You are familiar with optimizing CI/CD pipelines for multi-environment deployments, including progressive delivery strategies like canary or blue-green deployments.
What you'll do
In this role, you will be responsible for deploying, managing, and upgrading Kubernetes clusters, ensuring they are production-ready and capable of supporting mission-critical applications. You will work closely with DevOps, SRE, and security teams to deliver reliable and self-service Kubernetes clusters that meet the needs of the organization.
You will implement observability practices to monitor the health and performance of Kubernetes environments, allowing for proactive troubleshooting and optimization. Your role will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate Kubernetes with existing workflows and tools, enhancing the overall efficiency of application delivery.
You will also be tasked with designing and implementing security measures within Kubernetes environments, ensuring that best practices are followed to protect sensitive data and applications. Your contributions will directly impact the scalability and reliability of the infrastructure, enabling the organization to leverage the full power of container orchestration.
