Justworks is hiring a Director of Health Underwriting to lead underwriting processes for Medical, Dental, and Vision coverages. You'll work cross-functionally with Sales, Operations, Customer Success, and Finance in Tampa, Florida.

You are a natural leader with an eye for detail — you proactively seek out answers to improve processes instead of waiting for them to come to you. You know the ins and outs of underwriting health insurance, and your expertise will be crucial in supporting new business processes and renewal strategies. You thrive in a collaborative environment and enjoy working cross-functionally with various teams.
You have a strong understanding of the health insurance landscape and are adept at analyzing and reporting on a year-round book of business. Your ability to communicate effectively with colleagues in Sales, Operations, Customer Success, and Finance will help drive the success of the underwriting team. You are committed to continuous improvement and are always looking for ways to enhance the efficiency of underwriting processes.
What you'll do
As the Director of Health Underwriting, you will be responsible for overseeing the underwriting processes for Medical, Dental, and Vision coverages with multiple national carriers. You will assist in developing renewal strategies and provide reporting support to ensure that the underwriting team meets its goals. Your role will involve analyzing data to inform decision-making and improve overall business performance.
You will collaborate closely with Sales to understand client needs and tailor underwriting strategies accordingly. Working with Operations, you will streamline processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. In partnership with Customer Success, you will ensure that clients receive the best possible service and support throughout the underwriting process. Your leadership will be essential in fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement within the team.
