Overview

LetsGetChecked is hiring a Curator / NGS Analyst to process and analyze genetic variants in a clinical laboratory setting. This role requires familiarity with ACMG classification guidelines and collaboration with medical professionals.

Job Description

Who you are

You have experience in genetic analysis and are familiar with ACMG classification guidelines — your background allows you to accurately assess the pathogenicity of genetic variants detected in patients. You are detail-oriented and capable of maintaining tracking documents regarding the variant classification process, ensuring that all data is meticulously recorded and communicated.

You possess strong communication skills, enabling you to effectively collaborate with laboratory directors, medical directors, and genetic counselors regarding variant classification and clinical report text. Your ability to work in a clinical laboratory setting is complemented by your understanding of genetic sequencing techniques, including whole exome sequencing (WES) and whole genome sequencing (WGS).

What you'll do

In this role, you will be responsible for the processing, analysis, and interpretation of genetic variants identified through WES and WGS. You will assist in defining and updating variant analysis strategies and evaluation processes as new information becomes available, ensuring that your methods remain current and effective. You will collaborate on group projects, contributing your expertise to enhance the overall quality of genetic analysis within the team.

You will also be tasked with writing clinical reports that clearly communicate your findings and recommendations, ensuring that all stakeholders are informed and aligned. Your role will involve continuous learning and adaptation as you stay updated on the latest research and developments in genetic testing and analysis.
