Job Description

Who you are

You have 5+ years of experience in mobile engineering, specifically with Android development — you've built and maintained high-quality mobile applications that serve millions of users. Your deep understanding of Android frameworks and libraries allows you to create seamless user experiences that align with business goals.

You are proficient in Kotlin and Java, and you have experience with modern Android development practices — you understand the nuances of building responsive and efficient applications. Your familiarity with RESTful APIs and third-party libraries enables you to integrate various services into your applications effectively.

You thrive in a collaborative environment and have experience working with cross-functional teams — you communicate effectively with product managers, designers, and other engineers to ensure that the final product meets user needs and business objectives. You are comfortable conducting code reviews and mentoring junior engineers, sharing your knowledge to help them grow.

You are data-driven and have experience with analytics tools — you leverage data to inform your decisions and improve application performance. You are also familiar with agile methodologies and have participated in sprint planning and retrospectives, contributing to continuous improvement within your team.

Desirable

Experience with mobile app monetization strategies or ad integration is a plus — you understand how to balance user experience with revenue generation. Familiarity with cloud services such as Firebase or AWS can enhance your contributions to the team.

What you'll do

As a Senior Android Engineer II at Life360, you will be responsible for developing and enhancing features that drive user engagement and retention — you will work on critical functionalities such as authentication, onboarding, and crash detection. Your role will involve collaborating closely with product and design teams to define and implement new features that align with user needs.

You will leverage rapid experimentation to test new ideas and iterate on existing features — your ability to analyze user feedback and performance metrics will guide your development process. You will also ensure that the applications you build are scalable and maintainable, adhering to best practices in code quality and architecture.

You will participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to your peers — your mentorship will help junior engineers develop their skills and contribute effectively to the team. You will stay updated with the latest trends in mobile development and continuously seek opportunities to improve your skills and the team's output.
