You have 5+ years of backend engineering experience, particularly in building production systems that handle large volumes of data. Your technical skills include deep knowledge of AWS and Kubernetes, which you have used to deploy and manage scalable applications. You are familiar with Apache Spark and Apache Airflow, enabling you to process and orchestrate data workflows efficiently. You understand the importance of safety and affordability in the ride-sharing industry and are motivated to contribute to these goals through your engineering work.

You possess strong problem-solving skills and can debug complex distributed systems issues. Your experience includes working with microservices architectures, allowing you to build and maintain modular and scalable applications. You are comfortable with continuous integration and deployment practices, ensuring that your code is always production-ready.

What you'll do

As a Senior Backend Engineer on the Telematics team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing robust data processing systems that support Lyft's safety initiatives. You will work closely with data scientists and machine learning engineers to integrate models that analyze ride data for risk insights. Your role will involve optimizing data pipelines to ensure they can handle high-frequency data efficiently, contributing to the overall performance of the Telematics platform.
