What you'll do

As the Engineering Manager for the Mapping team at Lyft, you will be responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of mapping solutions that enhance user experiences across all Lyft products. You will lead a team of talented engineers, guiding them through the technical challenges of building and maintaining a robust mapping infrastructure. Your role will involve setting clear goals and expectations for your team, ensuring that they have the resources and support needed to achieve success.

You will work closely with product managers and other stakeholders to define the roadmap for mapping initiatives, prioritizing features and enhancements based on user needs and business objectives. You will also be involved in the hiring process, identifying and attracting top talent to join your team. Your leadership will be crucial in fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the engineering organization.

In addition to technical leadership, you will be responsible for performance management, conducting regular one-on-one meetings with team members to provide feedback and support their professional development. You will also play a key role in promoting best practices in software development, ensuring that your team adheres to high standards of code quality and testing.
