You are a tenured policy leader with experience in policy, government, business operations, or law. You possess strong strategic thinking skills and can navigate complex issues that may not be clearly defined. You are execution-minded and can adapt quickly to changing situations while maintaining credibility and trust within the organization. You are passionate about the services provided by Meta and the people they serve, and you are comfortable making difficult decisions under pressure regarding content management.
You have a proven track record of analyzing situations critically and communicating the costs and benefits of policy refinements. Your ability to work independently and manage high-profile content escalations makes you an ideal candidate for this role. You are prepared to work irregular hours, including early mornings, late nights, or weekends, to meet the demands of content-related escalations.
What you'll do
In this role, you will join Meta's Core Policy team and play a key role in developing, applying, and communicating Community Standards both internally and externally. You will work closely with Operations, Product, Legal, Communications, and Public Policy teams to ensure that policies empower expression and foster a safe environment on Meta's family of apps. You will manage high-profile content escalations and serve as the lead point of contact for policy questions in the U.S. for the Core Policy Team. Your responsibilities will include analyzing complex policy issues, providing strategic direction, and communicating effectively with various stakeholders.
You will be expected to make informed decisions about content management, balancing the need for expression with safety and compliance. Your role will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams to refine policies and ensure their effective implementation. You will also be responsible for communicating policy changes and updates to both internal teams and external stakeholders, ensuring clarity and understanding of Meta's Community Standards.
