Who you are
You have a background in policy management or government affairs, ideally within the technology or transportation sectors. Your experience includes working directly with policymakers and understanding the intricacies of transportation policy. You possess strong communication skills, enabling you to effectively advocate for the company's interests and educate stakeholders on the benefits of autonomous driving technology.
You are adept at building relationships with third-party groups and have a keen understanding of the regulatory landscape in Texas and Arizona. Your strategic mindset allows you to navigate complex policy challenges while supporting the innovative work of engineering, product, and legal teams.
What you'll do
As the Southwest Policy Manager, you will be the face of Waymo in Texas and Arizona, working to preserve the company's freedom to operate in these states. You will engage with local, state, and national policymakers to advance transportation policy that supports the deployment of autonomous vehicles. Your role will involve educating stakeholders on the safety benefits of the Waymo Driver and increasing consumer awareness and acceptance of autonomous technology.
You will collaborate closely with internal teams, including engineering and product, to ensure that policy initiatives align with the company's strategic goals. Your efforts will be critical in shaping the regulatory environment and facilitating the growth of Waymo's public-facing services in the Southwest region.
What we offer
Waymo offers a competitive salary range of $175,000—$221,000 USD, along with eligibility for an annual bonus program and equity incentive plan. You will also enjoy a generous benefits program, subject to eligibility requirements.
