Who you are
You have deep technical expertise in machine learning and software engineering — you can dive into research problems, evaluate models, and prototype solutions while analyzing technical tradeoffs. You thrive in ambiguity and take initiative, able to context-switch fluidly between hands-on technical work and strategic advisory roles. Your ability to communicate findings clearly in executive-level documents sets you apart.
You are comfortable working across a variety of projects as they surface ad-hoc, synthesizing insights for executive decision-making. You understand the importance of creating AI systems that are controllable and aligned with human values, and you are passionate about amplifying human potential through technology.
Desirable
Experience in a fast-moving research environment is a plus, as is familiarity with safety and alignment in AI systems. You should also have a strong understanding of the ethical implications of AI and how to navigate them in a corporate setting.
What you'll do
As a Technical Advisor, you will work closely with the Microsoft Superintelligence team, contributing to the development of advanced AI systems. Your role will involve evaluating models and providing strategic counsel on high-stakes decisions that impact the direction of AI research. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that the AI systems developed are safe, capable, and aligned with human values.
You will also be responsible for synthesizing complex technical information into actionable insights for executives, helping to guide the strategic direction of the team. Your hands-on experience will be invaluable as you prototype solutions and analyze technical tradeoffs across various projects.
