Overview

Microsoft is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for the Azure Container Registry team to build and maintain scalable container workloads. You'll work with Azure technologies and tools like Docker and Kubernetes. This position requires experience in cloud services and container management.

Job Description

Who you are

You have 5+ years of software engineering experience, particularly in building scalable cloud services — you've designed and implemented systems that handle large volumes of container workloads and understand the intricacies of container management. Your expertise in Azure technologies is complemented by a strong foundation in Docker and Kubernetes, allowing you to create efficient and secure containerized applications.

You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions — your ability to communicate technical concepts clearly helps bridge the gap between engineering and product management. You are proactive in identifying areas for improvement and are always looking for ways to enhance system performance and security.

Desirable

Experience with open-source communities and contributions is a plus — you understand the value of collaboration and innovation in the tech space. Familiarity with CI/CD practices and tools will further enhance your ability to streamline development workflows and improve deployment processes.

What you'll do

As a Senior Software Engineer on the Azure Container Registry team, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining a massively scalable cloud service that manages container images and artifacts — your work will directly impact how developers interact with Azure services, enhancing their workflows and productivity. You will collaborate with other engineers to develop features that ensure the security and efficiency of container workloads, including building, storing, and scanning images.

You will also engage with the open-source community to innovate and experiment, making the Azure Container Registry the best cloud-native multi-artifact store — your contributions will help shape the future of container management in Azure. You will participate in code reviews, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to architectural discussions, ensuring that the team adheres to best practices and high-quality standards.

What we offer

Microsoft provides a dynamic work environment where innovation is encouraged — you will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies and make a significant impact on the cloud computing landscape. We offer competitive compensation and benefits, including opportunities for professional development and growth within the company. Join us in shaping the future of cloud services and container management.
