Job Description
Who you are
You are an experienced backend engineer with over 4 years of experience writing production software, ideally with a background in web3 technologies. You have a proven track record of shipping products and navigating ambiguity, demonstrating your ability to propose and carry out technical solutions to complex business problems. Your passion for engineering practices drives you to continuously improve your craft alongside like-minded teammates. You thrive in collaborative environments and are eager to contribute to a passionate team dedicated to empowering creative communities.
You possess strong skills in TypeScript and Node.js, and you have experience building and maintaining production systems at scale. Your familiarity with AWS and GraphQL allows you to effectively architect backend services that are well-monitored and well-tested. You are a self-starter who enjoys discovering and evaluating new web3 technologies, knowing when to build using third-party APIs or in-house solutions. Your history of working closely with product teams and users enhances your ability to deliver impactful solutions.
Desirable
Experience with meaningful open-source contributions is a plus, as is a history of collaborating with product and user teams to create user-centric solutions. You are comfortable working in a hybrid environment, balancing in-person collaboration in New York City with remote work flexibility.
What you'll do
In this role, you will architect, develop, and execute on our product roadmap, focusing on building innovative web3-native products that resonate with creative communities. You will collaborate closely with frontend engineers to build products on top of our GraphQL API, ensuring seamless integration and functionality. Your responsibilities will include improving infrastructure and monitoring consistently, as well as proposing technical solutions to ambiguous business problems.
You will be tasked with discovering and evaluating web3 technologies, making informed decisions on whether to build solutions in-house or leverage third-party APIs. Your expertise will guide the team in architecting backend services that are robust, scalable, and maintainable. You will also play a key role in mentoring junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing within the team.
