Security Engineer • Intern

Who you are

You are currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or a related field. You possess foundational knowledge of information security principles, such as the CIA triad, least-privilege access, threat detection, and incident response, which you have gained through coursework, projects, or prior experience. You are familiar with networking concepts and have a keen interest in security operations.

What you'll do

As an Information Security Engineering Intern at MongoDB, you will work closely with the Detection Engineering team to proactively identify and surface threats. Your responsibilities will include building robust logging, detections, alerting, and automation systems that reduce risk across the company. You will gain hands-on experience with security tools involving SOAR/SIEM and DLP systems, helping to monitor the environment and flag signals that warrant deeper investigation. You will collaborate cross-functionally with security engineers and stakeholders to correlate data, build and maintain detections, and automate routine triage tasks, ensuring that incident response teams can safeguard MongoDB’s infrastructure and data effectively.
