You have 5+ years of experience in data science, with a strong background in analytics and machine learning. You understand the intricacies of payment systems and have a proven track record of using data to drive business decisions. Your expertise in SQL and Python allows you to manipulate and analyze large datasets effectively. You are a natural leader, capable of guiding a diverse team of data professionals while fostering a collaborative environment. You are passionate about using data to solve real-world problems and improve customer experiences. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and are comfortable working with cross-functional teams to achieve common goals.
Desirable
Experience in the fintech industry is a plus, as is familiarity with banking regulations and compliance. Knowledge of additional programming languages or data visualization tools would be beneficial. You are also open to mentoring junior team members and sharing your knowledge with others.
What you'll do
As the Data Science Manager for the Payments team at Monzo, you will lead a group of data scientists and analysts in developing insights that drive product improvements and customer satisfaction. You will oversee the design and implementation of data models that enhance payment processing and fraud detection. Collaborating closely with product managers and engineers, you will ensure that data-driven insights are integrated into the product development lifecycle. You will also be responsible for setting the strategic direction for data initiatives within the Payments team, aligning them with Monzo's overall mission to simplify banking for everyone. Regularly presenting findings to stakeholders, you will communicate complex data insights in an accessible manner. You will also mentor and develop your team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
