Backend Engineer • Senior

Who you are

You have 5+ years of hands-on experience as a software engineer, with a strong background in backend development. You possess excellent collaboration skills and can communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally. Your technical ability is complemented by a deep understanding of what makes a great product, allowing you to solve novel problems and think critically about the best solutions. You are motivated by the desire to create a positive impact and economic opportunity through your work. Experience working at a startup or leading new projects is a plus, as it has equipped you with the agility and resourcefulness needed in a fast-paced environment.

What you'll do

In this role, you will build tools and automation that help users manage employment compliance, integrating APIs and building data pipelines to support applications and partners. You will design, implement, and iterate on new features from scratch, ensuring that user feedback is synthesized and used to inform future development. Additionally, you will lay the groundwork for future engineering and product development, setting up initial infrastructure and continuous integration workflows. Working closely with the founder and founding team, you will help build prototypes and MVPs that align with the company's mission.
