Backend Engineer • Senior

Who you are

You have 5+ years of backend engineering experience, particularly in building production systems that operate at scale. You understand the complexities of distributed systems and have a track record of owning services from design through deployment, including debugging and optimizing performance.

Your expertise lies in Java and Spring, and you have experience developing high-throughput APIs that handle millions of requests. You are familiar with RESTful services and understand the importance of scalability, availability, and security in software design.

You are comfortable working in a collaborative environment, mentoring junior engineers, and driving technical discussions. You value teamwork and are committed to delivering high-quality, robust code that meets nonfunctional requirements.

You have experience with containerization technologies like Docker, which you use to streamline development and deployment processes. Your familiarity with databases, particularly PostgreSQL, allows you to design efficient data models and optimize queries for performance.

Desirable

Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure is a plus, as is familiarity with CI/CD practices and tools. You may also have exposure to microservices architecture, which enhances your ability to design scalable systems.

What you'll do

You will be involved in the entire software development lifecycle, from initial design through deployment and monitoring. Your contributions will directly impact the effectiveness of Socure's identity verification solutions, helping to eliminate fraud and enhance trust in digital transactions.
