Who you are
You have a strong academic background with a BA, Masters, or PhD in Machine Learning, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, or a related field. Your experience includes working with machine learning technologies and you are excited about the challenges of Level 5 autonomous driving. You are passionate about creating positive social impact through technology and are eager to grow your career in a fast-paced environment.
You have a proven track record of defining and influencing the direction of engineering teams, advising leaders on technology problems and solutions. Your ability to connect technology solutions with business impact is a key strength, and you are skilled at formulating complex problems and architecting effective solutions. You thrive in collaborative environments and enjoy mentoring both junior and experienced engineers and researchers, fostering a culture of inclusion and innovation.
Desirable
Experience in productionizing and deploying machine learning solutions onto autonomous vehicle fleets is a plus. You are familiar with the latest advancements in machine learning and have a keen interest in pioneering research into state-of-the-art solutions for autonomous vehicles.
What you'll do
As a Principal Engineer on the Behaviors team, you will drive project-level impact to enhance the capabilities of autonomous vehicles, ensuring they operate at superhuman levels for safe and comfortable driving. You will define and influence the technical direction of the team, advising on technology problems and solutions that align with business objectives. Your role will involve formulating complex problems, architecting innovative solutions, and designing processes that enhance the team's efficiency and effectiveness.
You will prototype, evaluate, implement, and iterate on solutions, ensuring they meet the high standards required for autonomous vehicle technology. Your work will include productionizing and deploying these solutions onto autonomous vehicle fleets, making a tangible impact on the future of transportation. You will also mentor and grow junior engineers and researchers, helping to cultivate a culture of excellence and innovation within the team.
