Who you are

You have a Master's or Ph.D. in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent industry experience. With a minimum of 3 years of proven leadership in managing and guiding engineering teams, you have successfully executed large, complex technical initiatives. Your background includes over 7 years of professional software engineering experience, particularly in real-time object and scene element detection. You are well-versed in deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, which is essential for the role. You are excited about Level 4 autonomous driving technology and are eager to tackle intellectual challenges while pursuing career growth with a fast-growing company.

Desirable

Experience with autonomous vehicle technology and remote sensing data will be a significant advantage. You thrive in collaborative environments and are passionate about creating a positive social impact through technology. Your ability to communicate strategies, progress, and challenges to executive leadership will be crucial in this role.

What you'll do

As a Principal Software Engineer on the Map Semantics team, you will define and execute semantic scene mapping projects that enhance the self-driving vehicles' capability to efficiently map roadways and localize themselves. You will lead, manage, and grow a team of engineers, ensuring that they are equipped to tackle the challenges of autonomous vehicle technology. Your role will involve productionizing and deploying solutions onto autonomous vehicle fleets, collaborating closely with localization, mapping, and perception teams to improve the on-road performance of your products. You will communicate strategies and progress to executive leadership, ensuring alignment with the company's mission and goals.
