What you'll do

As a Senior Machine Learning Engineer at Motional, you will architect and train distilled models that power our multimodal data mining framework. You will design and implement teacher-student model frameworks that can process vast amounts of sensor data efficiently. Your role will involve developing training pipelines for knowledge distillation, ensuring that student models maintain high accuracy while drastically reducing inference latency and memory footprint.

You will also build reinforcement learning-based policy learning and reasoning systems to optimize data discovery workflows. Your work will directly influence how we compress knowledge into efficient encoders for fast search and intelligent querying. You will collaborate closely with other engineers and data scientists to accelerate the model improvement lifecycle, focusing on post-training analysis, error diagnosis, and dataset curation.
