NEORIS is hiring a Mid-Level Data Engineer to build and optimize data pipelines using Spark and Delta Lake. You'll work on core batch and near-real-time pipelines in Quito, Ecuador, with a remote work option.
Job Description
Who you are
You are a Data Engineer with 2 to 4 years of experience, specializing in building and optimizing data pipelines. Your strong command of Apache Spark and Delta Lake allows you to create reliable and high-performance data solutions at scale. You have a solid understanding of data modeling, particularly in Silver and Gold layers for analytical use cases, and you are adept at ensuring data quality through expectations.
Your experience includes advanced optimization techniques such as managing shuffle, skew, partitioning, and caching. You are familiar with implementing incremental loads and handling slowly changing dimensions (SCD) to enhance data processing efficiency. You are also committed to following engineering standards and best practices, contributing to code reviews, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Desirable
Certifications such as Databricks Data Engineer Associate/Professional or AWS certifications are a plus, but not mandatory. You are eager to learn and grow in a multicultural environment that values innovation and continuous learning.
What you'll do
In this role, you will be responsible for constructing and maintaining core batch and near-real-time data pipelines. You will model and evolve Silver and Gold layers to support analytical use cases, ensuring that the performance and reliability of distributed workloads meet the highest standards. You will implement and monitor data quality metrics, utilizing expectations to maintain data integrity.
You will also engage in advanced optimizations, focusing on techniques like partitioning and caching to enhance data processing speeds. Your contributions will help shape the engineering standards and best practices within the team, as you participate in code reviews and collaborate with other engineers to elevate the quality of the codebase.
