You have 5+ years of experience in data engineering and a proven track record of leading high-performing teams. Your technical expertise includes proficiency in SQL and Python, and you have experience working with cloud platforms like AWS. You are passionate about data and understand how to leverage it to drive business outcomes. You possess strong leadership skills and are committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive team environment.
You have a strategic mindset and can balance engineering enablement with business data delivery. You are comfortable collaborating with cross-functional teams, including Product Management and Data Science, to ensure that data products meet business needs. You are a strong communicator, able to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Desirable
Experience with data pipeline tools and frameworks is a plus. Familiarity with data governance and compliance standards will help you excel in this role. You are always looking for ways to improve processes and drive efficiency within your team.
What you'll do
As the Data Engineering Manager, you will lead a team of talented data and software engineers, inspiring them to achieve engineering excellence. You will oversee the development of foundational data products that support customer sign-up and payment processing, ensuring they are reliable, scalable, and user-friendly. You will work closely with the central Data Platform organization to drive strategic partnerships and enhance tooling.
Your responsibilities will include hiring, coaching, and developing your team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement. You will set clear goals and expectations, providing regular feedback to help your team grow. You will also be involved in high-level decision-making regarding data architecture and product strategy, ensuring alignment with Netflix's overall mission.
You will collaborate with Product Management and Data Science teams to run sophisticated experiments and generate insights that impact the global member base and company revenue. Your role will be critical in optimizing the commerce experience and enhancing member acquisition strategies.
