Job Description
Who you are
You have over 6 years of full stack development experience building and operating production systems — you've successfully navigated the complexities of both frontend and backend technologies, ensuring seamless integration and performance. Your modern frontend experience ideally includes React and TypeScript, allowing you to create intuitive user interfaces that enhance developer experience.
Your backend expertise spans JavaScript/TypeScript (Node.js), Java, and Python, giving you the versatility to work across various platforms and technologies. You are familiar with GraphQL or similar API technologies, which enables you to design robust and efficient APIs that meet the needs of game developers.
You thrive on end-to-end ownership of features — from data models and persistence to API/service design, UI implementation, and instrumentation. Your experience with developer-facing tooling, such as developer portals and debugging tools, has equipped you with the skills to create solutions that empower game developers.
You understand the importance of UX iteration and are committed to improving the developer experience through thoughtful design and feedback. You are passionate about collaborating with game developers to shape product direction and ensure that the tools you build meet their needs effectively.
Desirable
Experience with game development workflows is a plus, as it allows you to empathize with the challenges faced by game developers. Familiarity with agile methodologies and a strong product mindset will help you contribute to the team's success.
What you'll do
As a Senior Full Stack Engineer on the Games Developer Tools team at Netflix, you will focus on building and enhancing tools that support game developers in creating exceptional gaming experiences. You will collaborate closely with game teams to understand their workflows and challenges, ensuring that the tools you develop are user-friendly and effective.
You will take ownership of features from conception to deployment, working on everything from data models and API design to UI implementation. Your role will involve designing and implementing robust APIs and services that facilitate seamless interactions between game developers and the tools you create.
You will iterate on user experience based on feedback from developers, continuously improving the tools to meet their evolving needs. Your contributions will directly impact the efficiency and effectiveness of game development at Netflix, helping to deliver high-quality gaming experiences to millions of users worldwide.
You will also participate in code reviews and provide mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a collaborative and supportive team environment. Your insights and expertise will help shape the technical direction of the team and contribute to the overall success of Netflix's gaming initiatives.
What we offer

We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, along with opportunities for professional growth and development. You will have the chance to work on cutting-edge technologies and contribute to projects that have a significant impact on the gaming industry.
