Job Description
Who you are
You have a strong background in software engineering with a focus on internationalization — you understand the complexities of adapting products for diverse audiences and have experience implementing internationalization best practices across teams. You are a collaborative team player who enjoys working closely with engineering, design, and product teams to raise awareness and knowledge of internationalization standards. You are passionate about creating inclusive experiences that resonate with users from different cultures and backgrounds.
You are familiar with ICU and CLDR standards and have successfully championed their adoption in previous roles — you know how to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and can effectively advocate for internationalization initiatives. Your experience includes defining and driving internationalization roadmaps, ensuring that business decisions align with global user needs. You are detail-oriented and have a knack for problem-solving, which allows you to identify and address potential internationalization issues proactively.
What you'll do

You will champion the adoption of ICU and CLDR standards throughout the organization and help teams use them effectively. You will define and drive the internationalization roadmap, communicating priorities and progress clearly to all stakeholders. You will partner closely with Product Managers to ensure business decisions align with internationalization goals, and you will celebrate diversity, recognizing that diverse teams build stronger products.
You will work on architecting, building, and championing solutions that scale globally, ensuring that Netflix's international experience is seamless and engaging for users everywhere. Your role will involve collaborating with various teams to integrate internationalization into the product development lifecycle, providing guidance and support to ensure that all products meet internationalization standards. You will also monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of internationalization efforts, making recommendations for improvements as needed.
What we offer
At Netflix, you will be part of a dynamic and innovative team that is dedicated to pushing the boundaries of storytelling and global fandom. We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, along with opportunities for professional growth and development.
