Overview
Netflix is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to build the Live Media Asset Management platform. You'll work with AWS and Java to design backend services that support live media workflows. This position requires experience in backend engineering and media management.

Who you are
You have 5+ years of experience in backend engineering, particularly in building scalable systems for media management. Your expertise includes designing and implementing robust APIs and data models that facilitate seamless media workflows. You are comfortable working with hybrid infrastructures, integrating third-party services, and ensuring data integrity across systems. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions. Your strong problem-solving skills enable you to tackle complex challenges in media asset management, and you are eager to leverage AI/ML technologies to enhance workflows.
Desirable
Experience with live media systems or sports content management is a plus. Familiarity with rights management and metadata normalization will help you excel in this role. A background in cloud computing, particularly with AWS, will be beneficial as you integrate various services into the Live MAM platform.
What you'll do
In this role, you will design and build backend services that power the Live Media Asset Management platform, focusing on ingest orchestration and media/metadata normalization. You will integrate a third-party MAM with Netflixβs hybrid infrastructure, ensuring a coherent media and metadata flow across systems. Your responsibilities will include implementing robust data models and APIs for live media assets, metadata, rights, and time-aligned events. You will collaborate with partner teams, including engineering, production, and operations, to deliver end-to-end workflows for live and near-live content. Additionally, you will work with AI/ML teams to incorporate automated solutions into the media management processes, enhancing efficiency and scalability.
