Who you are
You have 8+ years of experience crafting resilient, high-scale, low-latency, distributed microservices in production environments — you've successfully navigated the complexities of building and maintaining systems that serve millions of users globally. Your proficiency with gRPC, GraphQL, or RESTful API design and implementation means you can create seamless integrations that enhance user experiences. You possess recent experience with Java, C#, or other object-oriented programming languages, and you have a solid understanding of object-oriented design principles, concurrency, and multi-threading.
You are passionate about localization and accessibility, understanding the importance of making content available to diverse audiences. Your experience with media pipelines or relevant domain knowledge gives you a unique perspective on how technology can enhance storytelling and user engagement. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with linguists and other stakeholders to innovate and improve localization workflows.
What you'll do
As a Senior Software Engineer on the Content Localization team at Netflix, you will be responsible for building, operating, and maintaining tools that facilitate the localization of content into 35 languages. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance the accessibility of Netflix's offerings through audio descriptions and SDH assets. Your role will involve designing and implementing scalable microservices that support the entire workflow of content production, from pitch to play.
You will lead technical discussions and contribute to architectural decisions, ensuring that the systems you build are robust and efficient. Your expertise will guide the team in adopting best practices for API design and implementation, fostering a culture of quality and innovation. You will also mentor junior engineers, sharing your knowledge and helping them grow in their careers.
