Newsela is hiring a Customer Support & Billing Specialist to assist teachers with subscription and renewal processes. You'll utilize Salesforce and Google Sheets to manage customer interactions. This role requires at least 1 year of customer service or billing experience.

Job Description

Who you are

You have at least 1 year of customer service or billing experience with a U.S.-based company — you understand the nuances of guiding customers through subscription processes and managing billing inquiries. Your proficiency in Google Docs and Spreadsheets is complemented by experience with Salesforce, making you adept at tracking customer interactions and billing cycles. You possess exceptional organizational and communication skills, ensuring that you can effectively assist customers with their inquiries and concerns. Your written and verbal English fluency allows you to communicate clearly and professionally with teachers and school administrators. You are comfortable working U.S.-based hours, which means you are prepared for a night shift in the Philippines.

What you'll do

In this role, you will be one of the primary points of contact for our customers, primarily teachers, guiding them through the subscription and renewal process. You will conduct phone calls and emails to schools to facilitate timely renewals, generating quotes and processing orders while managing invoicing. You will discuss billing information with customers, including payment timing, billing address information, and due dates. Additionally, you will assist customers with basic troubleshooting and account inquiries, ensuring they have a seamless experience with our services. Your role will involve using Google Sheets and Salesforce or Excel to track customer interactions and billing cycles, providing you with the tools to manage your responsibilities effectively.
