Who you are

5+ years of experience in software engineering with a focus on data platforms — you've designed and built scalable data solutions that meet stringent security and compliance requirements. You have a strong understanding of data lakehouse architectures and are familiar with technologies like Iceberg, Hudi, and Delta tables.

Proficient in building and operating data pipelines — you have hands-on experience with batch and streaming data processing using tools such as Apache Spark and Kafka. Your expertise in SQL allows you to manage and query large datasets effectively.

You thrive in collaborative environments — you enjoy working closely with cross-functional teams, including Security, AI, and Data Engineering, to deliver robust data solutions. Your strong communication skills enable you to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Desirable

Experience with cloud platforms like AWS or GCP is a plus, as is familiarity with data governance and compliance frameworks. A background in machine learning or AI applications would also be beneficial.

What you'll do

Join Notion’s Data Platform team and play a key role in scaling our infrastructure for enterprise customers. You will design and evolve the data lakehouse, ensuring it serves as the source of truth for analytics, AI, and search functionalities. Your responsibilities will include building and operating core lakehouse components, managing schema, and ensuring data integrity.

You will own critical data pipelines and services, designing, implementing, and hardening both batch and streaming pipelines that reliably move and transform data across regions. Your work will directly impact how Notion leverages data for its AI capabilities and analytics.

Collaboration is key in this role, as you will partner closely with teams across the organization to ensure that our data infrastructure meets the needs of various stakeholders. You will also be involved in advancing our data governance practices to maintain compliance with industry standards.
