5+ years of software engineering experience with a focus on networking and real-time systems — you've tackled complex challenges in connectivity and understand the intricacies of network protocols and performance optimization. Your expertise in C and C++ allows you to develop robust solutions that meet high-performance standards.
Deep understanding of Linux environments — you've worked extensively with Linux-based systems and are comfortable optimizing software for performance and reliability. You thrive in collaborative settings, partnering with hardware and embedded teams to create seamless integrations.
Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for innovation — you enjoy exploring new technologies and methodologies to enhance system performance. Your experience with cellular networks and real-time data transmission gives you a unique perspective on the challenges faced in autonomous vehicle technology.
What you'll do
Join Nuro's engineering team and be responsible for architecting a network bonding framework that aggregates bandwidth across multiple cellular providers to ensure zero-drop connectivity. You'll develop and implement custom congestion control algorithms specifically tuned for high-bitrate, low-latency video streaming, ensuring that our vehicles maintain a reliable connection in all conditions.
You'll build sophisticated simulations to stress test our network stack against edge cases like tunnel entries and rural dead zones. Your work will directly impact the performance and reliability of our self-driving technology, making autonomy accessible to all.
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including hardware and embedded engineers, to optimize the network stack directly on our vehicle gateway. Your contributions will help shape the future of autonomous vehicles, empowering a safer, richer, and more connected future.
