You have 5+ years of experience in software engineering, with a strong focus on security practices and vulnerability remediation. Your background includes working with various security tools and methodologies, such as SAST, DAST, and OWASP, which you have utilized to identify and address security vulnerabilities effectively. You are proficient in programming languages like Java and Python, enabling you to build security automations that enhance operational efficiency. You understand the importance of maintaining a robust security posture and are committed to continuous learning and improvement in this field.

You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that security considerations are integrated into the development lifecycle. Your communication skills allow you to articulate security issues clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring that everyone is aligned on priorities and remediation efforts. You are detail-oriented and possess strong analytical skills, enabling you to triage vulnerabilities and prioritize them based on risk and impact.

Desirable

Experience with CI/CD pipelines is a plus, as you will contribute to building and maintaining a centralized CI pipeline that ensures the quality of security fixes. Familiarity with open-source dependency management and remediation strategies will also be beneficial in this role. You are open to exploring new tools and technologies that can enhance security practices within the organization.

What you'll do

In this role, you will be responsible for remediating security vulnerabilities, with a particular emphasis on open-source dependency vulnerabilities. You will triage vulnerabilities identified from various sources, including application security reviews and penetration tests, ensuring that issues are accurately identified and prioritized for remediation. You will also contribute to building security automations that enable the Security Engineering team to operate at high speed and scale, enhancing the overall security posture of Okta.

You will execute end-to-end vulnerability management processes, collaborating with other teams to validate and remediate identified vulnerabilities. Your role will involve continuous monitoring of security metrics and reporting on the effectiveness of remediation efforts. You will participate in security reviews and contribute to the development of best practices for secure coding and vulnerability management.
