Job Description
Who you are
You have a strong background in statistical analysis and machine learning, with a passion for advancing the field of AGI/ASI measurement. Your experience includes developing reinforcement learning environments that push the boundaries of AI capabilities. You are able to think critically and creatively, employing a robust 'red-teaming mindset' to explore the behavior of AI models. You are comfortable working with large datasets and have a solid understanding of the methodologies required for continuous evaluation of AI systems.
You possess excellent engineering skills, enabling you to design scalable systems and processes that support the continuous evaluation of AI models. Your ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams is complemented by your strong communication skills, allowing you to articulate complex ideas clearly. You are driven by the desire to contribute to the safe development of AGI and are eager to take ownership of individual threads within this endeavor.
What you'll do
In this role, you will create ambitious reinforcement learning environments that challenge our models and help measure their capabilities. You will work on developing new methodologies for automatically exploring the behavior of these models, ensuring that our training processes are effective and aligned with our safety goals. Your responsibilities will include steering training for our largest model runs and designing self-improvement loops that enhance our understanding of model behavior.
You will collaborate closely with other engineers and researchers to drive progress towards safe AGI/ASI. Your work will involve analyzing data from evaluations and using insights to inform training and safety decisions. You will also contribute to the open-source evaluations that the team has developed, such as GDPval and SWE-bench, and help refine these tools for broader use.
What we offer
At OpenAI, you will be part of a mission-driven team that is dedicated to shaping the future of technology. We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, along with opportunities for professional growth and development.
