Who you are
You have 5+ years of experience in engineering management, particularly in cloud infrastructure and platform engineering. You possess a deep understanding of Kubernetes and have successfully led teams in building scalable infrastructure solutions. Your expertise in distributed systems and networking allows you to navigate complex technical challenges effectively.
You are a strong leader who thrives in high-ownership roles, capable of setting technical direction and fostering a collaborative team environment. Your communication skills enable you to partner closely with adjacent teams, ensuring alignment and support for rapid expansion in scale and workloads.
What you'll do
In this role, you will build, lead, and grow high-performing infrastructure engineering teams. You will own the evolution of OpenAIβs Kubernetes platform, focusing on cluster lifecycle management, infrastructure automation, and reliability mechanisms. Your responsibilities will include managing engineers, setting technical direction, and ensuring the platform's reliability and scalability.
You will collaborate with security and product teams to ensure that the infrastructure can support OpenAIβs growth. Your leadership will be crucial in delivering infrastructure primitives that meet the demands of production systems operating at extreme scale. You will also be responsible for mentoring team members and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
