OpenAI is hiring an Engineering Manager for the Atlas team to lead the development of a world-class web browser integrated with ChatGPT. You'll manage a high-performing engineering team and drive complex cross-functional projects. This role requires significant experience in engineering management.

You have a proven track record of managing and growing high-performing engineering teams in fast-paced environments — you've successfully led teams through complex projects and understand the nuances of team dynamics and collaboration. Your hands-on experience in technology allows you to ramp up quickly on product and business goals, ensuring you can contribute effectively to the team's success.
You excel in setting clear priorities and strategic direction, collaborating closely with engineering, product, design, and research teams — your ability to foster collaboration and efficiency is key to your management style. You are adept at driving process improvements that enhance team effectiveness and product quality, ensuring that your team consistently meets high expectations.
What you'll do
In this role, you will lead the Atlas browser engineering team, focusing on extending the functionality and reach of the ChatGPT Atlas app — your leadership will be critical in transforming Atlas into the browser of choice for users. You will manage the hiring and onboarding processes, building a strong, collaborative team that thrives in a high-expectation environment.
You will be responsible for driving the execution of complex cross-functional projects, ensuring that product quality and reliability are maintained throughout the development process. Your role will involve establishing processes that promote collaboration and efficiency, allowing your team to deliver exceptional results.
You will also contribute to the long-term strategy of the Atlas project, working closely with various stakeholders to align on goals and objectives — your insights will help shape the future direction of the product.
