You have experience in deploying AI solutions in complex environments — you've worked with government or public sector clients and understand the unique challenges they face. Your technical expertise allows you to guide stakeholders through the adoption of AI technologies, ensuring compliance and reliability. You thrive in situations where clarity is needed amidst ambiguity, and you can structure delivery effectively to meet urgent needs.
You possess strong problem-solving skills and can map out customer challenges to create full-stack solutions that deliver measurable value. Your ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders makes you an effective thought partner in high-stakes environments. You are comfortable working with defense, intelligence, and federal stakeholders, and you understand the importance of security and compliance in these contexts.
What you'll do
As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you will own the technical delivery across multiple government deployments, from the initial prototype to stable production. You will embed with public sector customers, working closely to understand their needs and ensure successful deployments at scale. Your role will involve scoping, sequencing, and building solutions that align with government technical requirements. You will also identify reusable patterns and codify best practices that can influence OpenAI's roadmap.
You will collaborate with internal teams to drive clarity and ensure that deployments meet the highest standards of reliability and safety. Your work will directly impact how governments leverage AI to achieve their missions, and you will play a key role in shaping the future of technology in the public sector. You will also be expected to travel up to 50% for on-site work with customers, ensuring that you are closely aligned with their needs and challenges.
