Overview
OpenAI is hiring a Full Stack Engineer for their Knowledge Innovation team to build AI-powered knowledge systems. You'll work with technologies like JavaScript, Python, React, and Node.js to create impactful solutions. This role requires a strong background in full stack development.
Job Description
Who you are
You have a solid background in full stack development, with experience in both frontend and backend technologies — you've built applications that are not only functional but also user-friendly and engaging. Your proficiency in JavaScript and Python allows you to create seamless interactions and automations that enhance user experience. You understand the importance of scalable architecture and have a knack for leveraging modern frameworks like React and Node.js to deliver high-quality software solutions.
You thrive in collaborative environments and enjoy working closely with cross-functional teams — your ability to communicate effectively with engineers, designers, and product managers ensures that projects run smoothly and meet user needs. You are passionate about using technology to solve complex problems and are always eager to learn about new paradigms and tools that can improve your work.
You have a strong understanding of AI technologies and their applications — you are excited about the potential of AI to transform industries and are motivated to contribute to projects that harness this power. Your experience with automation systems and knowledge management systems positions you well to make a significant impact on the Knowledge Innovation team.
Desirable
Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure would be a plus, as would familiarity with machine learning concepts. If you have worked on projects that involve customer support automation or product insights, we encourage you to apply even if your experience doesn't match every requirement.
What you'll do
As a Full Stack Engineer on the Knowledge Innovation team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing AI-powered systems that evolve with user needs — your work will directly support both internal and external customers, enhancing their interactions with OpenAI's products. You will collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to iterate quickly and deliver reliable solutions that have a long-term impact.
You will push the boundaries of OpenAI's newest technologies, creating delightful user experiences that leverage state-of-the-art models and frameworks. Your role will involve building and maintaining robust applications that automate operations and provide valuable insights into customer interactions. You will also be tasked with ensuring that the systems you develop are scalable and maintainable, allowing for future growth and adaptation.
In addition to coding, you will participate in design reviews and contribute to architectural discussions — your insights will help shape the direction of the team's projects and ensure that they align with OpenAI's mission. You will have the opportunity to mentor junior engineers and share your knowledge of best practices in software development.
What we offer
At OpenAI, we believe in the transformative power of artificial intelligence and are committed to creating a diverse and inclusive workplace. You will have the chance to work on meaningful projects that have a real-world impact, collaborating with some of the brightest minds in the industry. We offer competitive compensation and benefits, along with opportunities for professional growth and development. Join us in shaping the future of technology and making AI accessible to everyone.
