OpenAI is hiring a Leave & Accommodation Specialist to manage day-to-day operations for leave of absence and workplace accommodations programs. You'll serve as a primary point of contact for employees and managers, ensuring compliance with applicable laws. This role requires strong judgment and discretion in sensitive situations.
Job Description
Who you are
You have experience in managing leave of absence and workplace accommodations programs, demonstrating a strong understanding of compliance with laws such as FMLA and ADA. You are comfortable navigating sensitive situations and exercising sound judgment when dealing with employee needs. Your communication skills allow you to effectively serve as a primary resource for employees and managers alike.
You are detail-oriented and organized, capable of handling the end-to-end operations of leave and accommodations, from intake through resolution. You understand the importance of creating and delivering innovative benefits and experiences for a diverse employee population. Your ability to improve tools, documentation, and workflows will contribute to the overall efficiency of the Total Rewards team.
What you'll do
In this role, you will own the day-to-day operations of OpenAI's leave and accommodations programs, ensuring that all processes are compliant with global laws. You will be responsible for coordinating with HRIS and payroll to manage leave requests effectively. As a primary point of contact, you will assist employees and managers in navigating their leave and accommodation needs, providing guidance on medical, parental, and disability-related requests.
You will work closely with the Senior Manager, Global Leave & Accommodation, to enhance the tools and documentation used in the process. Your role will involve collaborating with legal teams to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations. You will also be tasked with improving workflows and documentation to streamline the leave and accommodation processes for all employees.
