OpenAI is hiring a Simulation Environments Engineer to build tooling and infrastructure for realistic virtual environments in robotics research. You'll work with Unity, Python, and C++ to create scalable systems. This position requires experience in simulation and software development.

Who you are
You have a strong background in software development, particularly in simulation environments, with experience in Unity and Python. Your expertise in C++ allows you to create efficient and scalable systems that enhance robotics research. You understand the intricacies of integrating hardware and software to create realistic virtual environments.
You are familiar with game-engine practices and have a knack for building ergonomic tools that streamline the environment creation process. Your experience includes designing content pipelines and ensuring high-quality standards for assets, which is crucial for effective simulation.
You possess excellent problem-solving skills and can work collaboratively with researchers and engineers to validate task environments at scale. Your ability to communicate complex ideas clearly helps bridge the gap between technical and non-technical team members.
Desirable
Experience with Docker and other containerization technologies is a plus, as it enhances your ability to manage and deploy simulation environments efficiently. Familiarity with robotics and AI principles will further strengthen your contributions to the team.
