Overview

OpenAI is hiring a Technical Program Manager for their Foundations team to lead the development of datasets for AI training. You'll collaborate with researchers and manage data platforms to enhance model capabilities. This role is based in San Francisco with a hybrid work model.

Who you are

You have experience in program management, ideally within the AI or data domain — you've successfully led projects that require collaboration across multiple teams and stakeholders. Your strong organizational skills enable you to manage complex datasets and ensure timely delivery of high-impact data. You thrive in environments where you can drive innovation and improve processes, and you have a keen interest in advancing AI technologies. You are comfortable working with researchers and technical teams to understand their data needs and translate them into actionable plans.

What you'll do

As a Technical Program Manager at OpenAI, you will lead end-to-end programs focused on acquiring and delivering critical training datasets. You will collaborate closely with research, crawling, partnership, and human data teams to ensure that the datasets meet the needs of our models. Your role will involve driving the creation of mission-critical training datasets for major model training runs, ensuring that the data is of the highest quality and relevance. You will own the data platform roadmap, leading the development of new features that enhance research velocity and improve the usability of the platform for both human researchers and AI agents. You will also be responsible for proposing, prioritizing, and iterating on features that unlock new capabilities for our teams.
