Opendoor is hiring a Manager, IT SOX & Internal Audit to lead their IT SOX program and technology audit coverage. You'll work closely with Engineering, Security, Data, and Product teams, utilizing skills in SQL and Python to enhance risk and controls. This role requires a strong technical background and leadership experience.

Job Description

Who you are

You have a strong background in IT compliance and audit, with at least 5 years of experience leading IT SOX programs and managing IT risk assessments. Your technical expertise allows you to conduct deep technical reviews and support system implementations effectively. You are comfortable collaborating with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Security, Data, and Product, to deliver a modern, AI-enabled approach to risk and controls. You possess excellent communication skills, enabling you to manage external auditors and consultants while ensuring PCAOB-aligned execution. You are detail-oriented and have a proven track record of building scalable and efficient automation-first SOX programs.

Desirable

Experience with cloud technologies and infrastructure changes is a plus, as is familiarity with automated control testing strategies. You are proactive in identifying SOX and IT risks during solution design and implementation phases. Your ability to mentor and guide team members in best practices for ITGCs and automated controls will be invaluable in this role.

What you'll do

In this role, you will lead Opendoor’s IT SOX 404 program, covering ITGCs and automated controls. You will drive the annual IT risk assessment and SOX scoping process, ensuring that all systems are compliant and secure. You will manage walkthroughs, design assessments, and testing strategies, working closely with various teams to ensure that each implementation includes adequate automated controls. Your leadership will be critical in conducting system implementation reviews for new systems, cloud launches, and major upgrades, ensuring that SOX and IT risks are identified and mitigated early in the process.

You will also be responsible for building automation using SQL and Python, enhancing the efficiency of the SOX program. Your role will involve collaborating with engineering teams to ensure that all technology audits are thorough and aligned with best practices. You will participate in solution design discussions, providing insights on how to integrate compliance into the development process seamlessly. Your expertise will help shape the future of Opendoor’s IT compliance landscape, making it more robust and efficient.
