Who you are
You have 5+ years of experience in engineering management, particularly in a multi-tenant SaaS environment — you've successfully led teams to deliver high-quality software solutions that meet user needs and drive organizational goals. Your technical expertise includes a strong command of JavaScript, React, and Node.js, allowing you to guide your team effectively in building robust applications.

You possess excellent communication skills, enabling you to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders — you can bridge the gap between engineering and other departments, ensuring alignment on project goals and timelines. Your experience in the public sector or with government solutions is a plus, as it gives you insight into the unique challenges faced by local and state governments.
Desirable
Experience with agile methodologies and project management tools is beneficial — you thrive in environments that prioritize iterative development and continuous improvement. You will collaborate closely with product managers and designers to define project requirements and ensure that the engineering team delivers high-quality products on time.
You will be responsible for mentoring and developing your team members, providing guidance on best practices in software development and fostering a culture of continuous learning — you will conduct regular one-on-ones to discuss career development and performance, helping your team members achieve their professional goals.
You will also play a key role in strategic planning, contributing to the technical direction of the team and making decisions that align with OpenGov's mission to enhance government effectiveness — your insights will help shape the future of the products we offer, ensuring they meet the evolving needs of our clients.
What we offer
At OpenGov, we pride ourselves on our performance-based culture where every employee is encouraged to contribute ideas and take initiative — we recognize and reward excellent performance, and we love to promote from within. You will have the opportunity to work in a collaborative and diverse environment where your contributions will have a direct impact on the effectiveness of local and state governments.
We offer competitive compensation and benefits, including opportunities for professional development and growth within the company — you will be part of a mission-driven organization that values innovation and accountability in public service.
