Overview
OpenGov is hiring a Senior Security Operations Analyst to enhance the Information Security program. You'll work closely with DevOps and Infrastructure teams to ensure the resilience of cloud and on-prem environments. This role requires expertise in security tools and incident response.
Job Description
Who you are
You have a strong background in cybersecurity with at least 5 years of experience in security operations. Your expertise includes monitoring and operating internal security tools, and you are well-versed in incident response processes. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with DevOps and Infrastructure teams to enhance security measures and ensure compliance with best practices.
You possess a deep understanding of cloud security and on-premises environments, ensuring they are resilient and defensible. Your technical skills include proficiency in AWS and Linux, along with scripting capabilities in Python to automate security tasks. You are familiar with security monitoring tools such as Splunk and Wireshark, enabling you to analyze and respond to security incidents effectively.
You are detail-oriented and have a proactive approach to identifying potential security threats. Your ability to document automated and manual playbooks is crucial in enhancing the organization's security posture. You are committed to continuous learning and staying updated on the latest cybersecurity trends and threats.
Desirable
Experience with compliance frameworks and regulations such as GDPR or HIPAA is a plus. Familiarity with vulnerability management tools and practices will also be beneficial in this role. You are a team player who enjoys sharing knowledge and mentoring junior analysts, contributing to a culture of security awareness within the organization.
What you'll do
In this role, you will own the monitoring and operation of internal security tools, ensuring they provide maximum visibility and enforce security controls across the organization. You will collaborate with various teams to enhance security measures and respond to incidents promptly. Your responsibilities will include documenting security processes and playbooks, contributing to the Security Incident Response process, and participating in security assessments and audits.
You will analyze security alerts and incidents, providing timely responses and remediation actions. Your role will involve working closely with the DevOps team to integrate security practices into the development lifecycle, ensuring that security is a priority from the outset. You will also assist in the development and implementation of security policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
