Overview

OpenSesame is hiring a Software Engineer 1 to design, build, and maintain production software for shared platform services. You'll work with technologies like TypeScript, Node.js, and AWS in a remote environment.

Job Description

Who you are

You are an entry-level engineer ready to take ownership of well-defined work while continuing to grow your technical judgment and system understanding. You have a foundational understanding of modern tech stacks and are eager to learn more about identity management and commerce domains. You approach complex systems with curiosity and care, and you are comfortable working in an agile, automation-oriented environment.

You have experience with TypeScript and Node.js, and you are familiar with tools like GitHub Actions and Terraform. Your understanding of AWS and SQL will help you contribute effectively to the team. Experience with identity technologies such as SAML and OIDC, as well as familiarity with SSO platforms like Okta, will be advantageous as you work on shared services that support product engineering teams across the company.

What you'll do

As a Software Engineer 1 on the Core team, you will design, build, and maintain production software for shared platform services. You will collaborate with other engineers to ensure quality, reliability, and delivery of the services you develop. You will regularly inspect how you work, identify what’s slowing you down, and make deliberate changes to improve processes. Your contributions will help enhance the overall efficiency of the engineering team and the services provided to the organization.

You will work closely with product engineering teams to understand their needs and provide the necessary support through the shared services you help maintain. You will also have the opportunity to learn from more experienced engineers and grow your skills in a supportive environment. Your role will involve working with both modern and legacy systems, giving you a well-rounded experience in software engineering.

What we offer

OpenSesame provides a collaborative and innovative work environment where you can thrive and expand your skills. We value continuous improvement and encourage our engineers to take initiative in their work. You will have the chance to work on meaningful projects that contribute to the company's mission of helping organizations thrive through change. We offer a flexible remote work arrangement, allowing you to balance your professional and personal life effectively.
