Job Description
Who you are
You have 5+ years of experience in data engineering, with a proven track record of building and maintaining data pipelines that support real-time analytics and decision-making. Your expertise in tools like Apache Spark and Databricks allows you to translate complex research workflows into efficient, production-grade systems. You are passionate about data quality and best practices, and you thrive in a collaborative environment where you can mentor junior engineers and drive a culture of continuous improvement.
You possess a deep understanding of ETL/ELT processes and have experience optimizing data workflows for scalability and performance. Your ability to work closely with cross-functional teams, including research and data platform teams, enables you to align data strategies with business goals. You are comfortable with data modeling and have a strong foundation in data architecture principles.
Desirable
Experience with Delta Lake and Lakehouse architecture is a plus, as is familiarity with DataOps practices. You are eager to stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies that can enhance data capabilities. Your strong communication skills allow you to effectively share insights and collaborate with stakeholders across different regions.
What you'll do
In this role, you will design, build, and maintain reliable ETL/ELT pipelines using Spark and Databricks, ensuring that data flows seamlessly from various sources to analytical tools. You will optimize and productionize research workflows, focusing on scalability, resilience, and performance tuning. Your contributions will directly impact the data systems that power world-class research and real-time trading decisions.
You will collaborate with power users to develop reusable patterns and templates, enhancing the onboarding experience for new team members. Defining, documenting, and enforcing data engineering best practices will be a key part of your responsibilities, ensuring that the team adheres to high standards of data quality and governance.
As a lead engineer, you will mentor junior engineers, fostering a culture of learning and excellence in DataOps. You will have the opportunity to shape Lakehouse engineering in the United States and influence global data architecture, making a significant impact on the organization.
