What you'll do

As a Senior Backend Engineer at Oscar, you will be responsible for designing and implementing backend services that make interacting with the health care system easier for members and providers. You will lead the planning, execution, and release of complex technical projects, ensuring that your team's output meets high standards of quality and reliability.

You will collaborate with product managers and designers to understand user needs and translate them into technical requirements — your role will involve not just coding, but also participating in discussions about product direction and user experience. You will work closely with other engineers to improve existing systems and develop new features that enhance the overall functionality of Oscar's technology platform.

Your responsibilities will also include conducting code reviews, providing feedback, and mentoring junior engineers to help them grow in their roles.
