You possess deep expertise in Python and Java, enabling you to write high-quality, performant code that meets the needs of both developers and users. Your experience with REST APIs allows you to build workflows that enhance user trust and comply with privacy regulations.

You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with product managers and designers to drive initiatives from inception through to implementation and release. Your problem-solving skills enable you to find creative solutions to thought-provoking challenges, and you are comfortable taking calculated risks to innovate and improve existing systems. You understand the importance of privacy and regulatory compliance in backend development, ensuring that your work maintains user trust.

What you'll do

As a Senior Backend Engineer at Pinterest, you will play a crucial role in the Core Engineering teams, contributing to the development of new technologies and experiences. You will write high-quality, performant Python and Java code to build out workflows leveraging APIs that maintain Pinner trust from a privacy and regulatory compliance perspective. You will lead each step of the product development process, from ideation to implementation to release, ensuring that your contributions align with the company's mission to inspire creativity.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers and designers, to define project requirements and deliver impactful solutions. Your responsibilities will include designing and implementing robust frameworks and features, as well as mentoring junior engineers to foster a culture of learning and growth within the team. You will have the opportunity to drive new initiatives, seeing them through from technical design to successful release, while continuously seeking ways to improve processes and outcomes.
