Job Description
Who you are
You have 5+ years of experience as a Data Scientist, particularly in the payments sector, where you've developed models and systems that drive business outcomes. Your expertise in machine learning methodologies allows you to tackle complex analytics challenges, and you have a strong foundation in Python and SQL for data manipulation and analysis.
You are skilled in building scalable data pipelines, utilizing tools like dbt to automate ETL processes. Your analytical rigor and technical depth enable you to assess product performance and conduct retrospective analyses effectively. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with clients to craft strategies that maximize impact and mitigate risks.
What you'll do
In this role, you will be part of Plaid's Payment Data team, focusing on improving how millions of users move money through ACH. You will apply best-in-class methodologies to develop new products and enhance existing systems, driving strategic decisions that shape production direction. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include deep diving into model performance, triaging issues, and identifying opportunities for improvement across machine learning risk systems.
You will also develop new features to strengthen model performance and design metrics, alerts, and dashboards to monitor production models. Collaborating with clients both pre- and post-sales, you will assess product performance and craft risk mitigation strategies that maximize impact. Your work will directly influence how Plaid empowers users to manage their finances more effectively.
