Security Engineer • Senior

Who you are

You have 5+ years of experience in DevSecOps and application security, with a strong understanding of security best practices and methodologies. You are proficient in cloud security, particularly with AWS, and have hands-on experience with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes. Your background includes scripting and automation using Python, which you leverage to enhance security processes and workflows.

You are well-versed in CI/CD practices and have implemented security measures within these pipelines to ensure secure software delivery. Your experience with infrastructure as code tools like Terraform allows you to manage and provision secure environments efficiently. You have a solid understanding of version control systems, particularly Git, and are comfortable working in a Linux environment.

Desirable

Experience with security frameworks and compliance standards such as OWASP, NIST, or ISO 27001 is a plus. Familiarity with security tools like Burp Suite or Snyk can enhance your contributions to the team. You are a proactive communicator, able to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to promote a culture of security awareness.

What you'll do

In this role, you will champion and drive DevSecOps initiatives at Plume, ensuring that security is integrated into every phase of the software development lifecycle. You will assess and enhance the security posture of our SaaS platform, identifying vulnerabilities and implementing appropriate remediation strategies. Collaborating closely with development and operations teams, you will help establish security best practices and guidelines that align with industry standards.

You will conduct security assessments and audits, providing actionable insights to improve our security measures. Your expertise will be crucial in designing and implementing security controls for cloud-based applications, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards. Additionally, you will mentor junior team members, sharing your knowledge and fostering a culture of continuous improvement in security practices.
