You have a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in machine learning, computer science, statistics, or a related quantitative discipline — your academic or industry experience includes data analysis and natural language processing (NLP). You are a creative problem solver with a collaborative mindset, eager to apply modern AI technologies to real-world challenges in investment research. Your ability to understand complex workflows and translate them into high-impact AI solutions sets you apart.

You have experience designing and building AI-driven research tools and workflows, particularly with a focus on large language models (LLMs) and retrieval-augmented generation. You are comfortable leveraging both internal models and external APIs to build generative AI solutions. Your pragmatic approach to applying emerging AI capabilities balances innovation with robustness, speed, and user adoption.

You thrive in a collaborative environment, working closely with investment professionals to understand their needs and drive solutions from concept to production. Your experience includes prototyping, evaluation, deployment, and incorporating user feedback loops to refine AI solutions. You are on the frontier of AI technology, continually assessing new models and techniques for their commercial relevance.

Experience with financial data analysis or investment workflows is a plus, as is familiarity with the latest advancements in AI technologies. You are passionate about staying updated with industry trends and eager to contribute to the evolution of investment research through AI.

What you'll do

In this role, you will partner closely with long/short equity portfolio managers and analysts to understand their workflows and processes. Your primary responsibility will be to design and build AI-driven research tools that enhance efficiency and improve research quality across the equities platform. You will leverage your expertise in machine learning and NLP to create innovative solutions that address real-world problems faced by investment professionals.

You will be responsible for driving AI solutions from concept to production, which includes prototyping new ideas, evaluating their effectiveness, deploying them into existing systems, and gathering user feedback to iterate on your designs. Collaboration with the AI platform engineering team will be crucial to ensure that your solutions are scalable and well-integrated with existing systems.

You will continually assess new AI technologies and methodologies, applying them pragmatically to enhance the investment research process. Your work will directly impact the efficiency and effectiveness of the investment team, helping Point72 maintain its position as a premier asset manager.
