Job Description
Who you are
You are a candidate with a strong analytical and quantitative background, ideally holding an undergraduate, Masters, or PhD in finance, computer science, mathematics, or a related quantitative discipline. Your skills in regression modeling and economic intuition will help you validate investment hypotheses effectively. You have a solid foundation in statistical methods and are familiar with fundamental data and databases such as Compustat and IBES.
Your proficiency in Python, particularly in data manipulation and regression modeling, sets you apart. You also have experience with SQL and version control systems like GIT, which are essential for managing data and collaborating with your team. You are eager to apply your knowledge to solve practical investment challenges and contribute to the internal alpha capture team.
What you'll do
In this role, you will manage end-to-end quantitative research projects, which include data exploration, cleaning, and management. You will conduct research hypothesis testing based on economic rationale and perform statistical and regression modeling to derive insights. Your work will involve realistic simulation analysis and presenting your findings to the broader group, ensuring that your contributions are impactful and actionable.
You will collaborate closely with discretionary portfolio managers and analysts, leveraging their insights to develop and implement scalable long/short equity investment strategies. Your commitment to rigorous analysis and sound economic reasoning will be crucial in validating investment hypotheses and enhancing the team's decision-making processes.
