Overview

PointClickCare is hiring an Intermediate Software Engineer to contribute to their health tech platform. You'll work with Java, React, and Spring Boot, and engage in technical discussions and incident response. This role requires experience in cloud services and automation tools.

Job Description

Who you are

You have a solid foundation in software engineering with experience in Java and React — you've contributed to building scalable applications and understand the nuances of both frontend and backend development. Your familiarity with Spring Boot allows you to create robust backend services that integrate seamlessly with various frontend technologies. You are comfortable working in a hybrid environment and can collaborate effectively with remote teams.

You have experience with cloud services such as AWS or Azure — you understand how to leverage these platforms to enhance application performance and reliability. Your knowledge of containerization tools like Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes enables you to deploy applications efficiently and manage their lifecycle effectively. You are also familiar with CI/CD practices, particularly using Jenkins, which helps streamline the development process.

Your analytical skills are complemented by your experience with Power BI — you can derive insights from data to inform development decisions and improve user experiences. You have a keen interest in automation, with experience in tools like Selenium, which allows you to enhance testing processes and ensure high-quality software delivery.

You thrive in a collaborative environment and enjoy engaging in technical discussions — you are eager to share your knowledge and learn from others. You understand the importance of incident response and backlog grooming, and you are proactive in addressing issues that arise during development.

Desirable

Experience with additional frameworks or languages is a plus, as is familiarity with SaaS products. You are open to learning new technologies and adapting to the evolving needs of the healthcare industry.

What you'll do

As an Intermediate Software Engineer at PointClickCare, you will play a crucial role in developing and maintaining our health tech platform — your contributions will directly impact the quality of care provided to thousands of organizations. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers and designers, to understand user needs and translate them into technical requirements.

You will be responsible for designing and implementing features that enhance the user experience — your expertise in Java and React will be essential as you build scalable and efficient applications. You will also participate in code reviews, ensuring that best practices are followed and that the codebase remains maintainable and robust.

Your role will involve troubleshooting and resolving technical issues — you will assist with incident response, ensuring that any disruptions are addressed promptly to minimize impact on users. You will also engage in backlog grooming sessions, helping prioritize tasks and ensuring that the development process remains efficient.

Collaboration is key in this role — you will work alongside other engineers to share knowledge and best practices, fostering a culture of continuous improvement. You will have the opportunity to mentor junior engineers, helping them grow their skills and contribute effectively to the team.

What we offer

At PointClickCare, we are committed to fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration — we believe that our employees are the architects of a smarter healthcare future. You will have access to resources that support your professional development, including training and mentorship opportunities. We offer a flexible work environment that allows you to balance your personal and professional life effectively.

Join us in redefining healthcare — your work will make a meaningful difference in the lives of millions. We encourage you to apply even if your experience doesn't match every requirement, as we value diverse perspectives and backgrounds.
