Who you are

You have 5+ years of experience in DevOps or related fields, with a strong focus on CI/CD practices. You understand the intricacies of build and release pipelines and have a proven track record of automating processes to enhance speed and reliability. Your experience with cloud platforms, particularly AWS, allows you to design scalable and efficient systems that support development teams.

You are proficient in containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes. You have hands-on experience in managing CI/CD tools and can implement best practices for version control and release management. Your ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams ensures that you can effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

You are detail-oriented and have a knack for problem-solving, which helps you identify bottlenecks in the development process and propose effective solutions. You are passionate about improving developer experiences and are always looking for ways to streamline workflows.

Desirable

Experience with infrastructure as code tools like Terraform or CloudFormation is a plus. Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus or Grafana will help you in this role. You are also open to learning new technologies and adapting to the evolving landscape of DevOps practices.

What you'll do

In this role, you will own the CI/CD processes for both web and desktop applications at Postman. You will design, implement, and evolve build and release pipelines that prioritize speed, reliability, and maintainability. Your work will directly impact the efficiency of hundreds of engineers who rely on these systems to deliver high-quality software to millions of users.

You will automate versioning, changelogs, canaries, phased rollouts, and instant rollbacks, ensuring that the release management process is seamless and efficient. By codifying trunk-based workflows and implementing change management guardrails, you will help maintain a high standard of quality in the software delivery process.

You will also be responsible for instrumenting the platform, defining metrics that provide insights into the performance of the CI/CD pipelines. Your ability to analyze these metrics will help you make data-driven decisions to continuously improve the developer experience.

Collaboration is key in this role, as you will work closely with engineering teams to understand their needs and challenges. You will provide guidance on best practices for CI/CD and help teams adopt these practices effectively.
